Hey guys i have a 1991 gsxr 750. I bought it used and it had a 750 katana engine in it from around the same year as well. Now this motor is blown up so im about to replace it. I want a 1100 to put in it. I know a guy with a 1987 1100 engine. Will this bolt right in with no problems? Is there anything im gonna need in addition to this motor? It already comes with the carbs. What about linkages or electronics? Are they the same? Basically i just want to know what to look out for when swapping these engines. Thanks!

Mine was a 1995 GSX750F Katana, with a GSXR motor.. 1st one was a gsxr750 motor the 2nd was an 1100

The motor will fit fine, might have to take the valve cover off, I did.
You may have to enlarge the top or bottom hole on the front two brackets, forget which hole.
I used the Pickup off the Katana motor in the 1100, in order for the electronics to work (different plug, etc.)

You may have to get longer choke and throttle cables, I cannot remember if I had to, or if I made them work.. been too many yrs, and bikes ago.

Goodluck,
