I have the opprotunity to purchase a 1973 Suzuki 400 Apache 2-stroke from someone for $400.00 This bike is in running condition and looks fair considering it's age. I need to know if these bikes are lemons or are they a dependable motorcycle. Could anyone tell me if I would be a fool to ride this bike on a 500 mile journey from Michigan to Wisconsin. Any input on this enduro would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I owned an old TS 400. I think it was a 1978. Any way it was a great bike. The engine pulled like a 4 stroke with lots of torque down low. I regularly beat my buddy who had a Yamaslug 400 enduro. The bike would do 90 mph and trailed great. I sold it to get married and sometimes think the wife was not worth the bike.
