Hey there I have a 1977 suzuki 185 ts and im trying to figure out the wiring cause a bunch is cut and im not getting spark. Ive spent tons of time trying to rewire this thing but all the diagrams for the ts model have a cdi box and my bike doesnt it has the voltage regulator that shows on the disgram for the gt model. Can anyone explain why its like this or show me a way to get around this. Thanks!
P.s the gt and ts models are very simular but the big difference maker is the ts has the exhaust running right below the seat and the gt runs it by the swing arm, therfore I know mine is the ts model but has gt looking wiring.....????

I think you are highly confused. The fact that the bike has a voltage regulator has nothing to do with whether it has a CGI box or not, because those are two different things in two entirely different systems, and the bike was built with both. Saying it does not have a CGI box because it has a voltage regulator is like saying your car does not need gas because there is air in the tires. If you bike does not currently have a CGI box, then that would be one of the things cut off and the bike is never going to start until you replace it and repair all the wiring.

Do you have the correct diagram for that year and model, some spark units where incorperated into the AC generator/magneto.
I am not that familiar with those systems.

Some had CDI's, and some did not. so he may be correct.

I was just looking at the two diagrams and one showed a CDI box and one showed voltage regulator in the same spot so thats only difference I could see. It has what scrap dog said with the system incorporated with the magneto. Guess I can just try wiring it with the gt model diagram and hope for the best!

Not sure if this is the right forum or not. Maybe I can get some direction if not. Recently put back together a 1975 tc 185. Runs great I want to make sure my oil pump is working properly. Last engine siezed broken oil line. I noticed air bubbles in the oil lines but oil moving to carb and crankcase fine. Are air bubbles here to be expected or so I have a issue? Engine has run for a while still using a little premix. Thanks for any help.
