Hi,
Just bought an old dirt bike with no paperwork. I was told on purchase that it is a 1985 TS100. I've done searches on the internet and don't find anything on this make in this year. How can I find out/verify what year this bike really is? Also, among other things, the seat is shot. How can I get a replacement seat? Is there a way of spec'ing these things? Width at tie-down bolts, length to gas tank? I have no idea how to go about this.
Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, but they don't list my bike. And, I don't know what would be close enough to work. Also, I have googled, and it's pretty much a waste of time.

Tried Ebay and mostly a no-show. Even have a search set up for Suzuki TS100 (which returns a couple hits, but none of that year). Good idea about the frame/dealer lookup.
Any suggestions on the seat? There's got to be some aftermarket or seat from other make model that'll fit it.
Thanks.

Mine is not quite so shiny or new. I took a pic real quick (sorry about the quality) so y'all could see the beast. It's close but the muffler isn't right, so I'm guessing not an exact match.

Just looked at the frame number and it said manufactured in 10/81. I guess the guy that sold it to me didn't know what he was talking about. Maybe I'll be able to find parts/specs for an 81 (couldn't find anything for an 85). Any way, thanks for all the help.

Go to an auto upholstery shop and ask for a scrap of marine grade stuff. It's strong and will take the sun. My local shop hits me $5.00 for a big piece to do old school seats. Use a blow drier to heat, stretch and shape it a little at a time. Or just take the seat in. Might be a lot cheaper than you think, if you find the right shop.

Same thing. Stop by an auto upholstery shop. They may even help you out with shaping it if you bring the old one in. I don't know of any in acton or even Santa Clarita Valley. Just going to have to look around.
