I have a 1991 250 nighthawk which has no spark. I tried new plugs and
fiddling with the kill switch and the kick stand and still I have no
sign of spark. The bike has a new battery and has 3100 miles on it.
I purchased a manual and did the checks outlined in the book. I Ohmed
all the wires on the cdi except the wire that comes from the stator
since it didn't have a spec for that. the coils and the pulse phaser
which were both in spec according to the book and it says that if both
of them are good the cdi is bad. According to the book the ground is
good, kill/ignition switch good, coils good, and pulse phaser good. So
I purchased a cdi and tried it and still no spark.

Thanks:fight1:

have 1991 250 Nighthawk. Bike stalls and won't catch when try and restart when engine warm (approx 6-10 min run time) When it stalls, there is no spark in either plug. When it cools sufficiently (say 10 min) will start right up then repeat.

It probably would be better if you started a new thread instead of tacking it onto the end of a discussion that is 15 years old.
Post #1 lists some of the things to check.
In addition to that, the electronics in the ignition module, whatever kind that is, might be failing when hot.
