I just bought a 92 rm 125 that needs some work and I have a few questions. First whats a good gas oil ratio for these Motors? 40:1? The bike has almost no compression could it be just a top gasket? Like a head gasket going out on a car?(Excuse my ignorance as this is my first Dirtbike usally stick with mustangs) whats a good compression for a RM125? Next is there a good place online to order aftermarket and oem parts on the net?

Thanks Guys
I hope to be riding soon. :D

ah i also have a 92 125. i certainly dont know everything but ill share what i do. i have a brand new piston and rings and im running 24 to 1 for break in and 32 to 1 after.

i figure its top end time for you also. compression should be over 100psi. ebay is where you want to look for parts, you have to have patience 1992 parts will show sooner or later. 2 weeks ago there was a guy with a complete 92 rm 125 selling as parts.

i have bought lots of stuff for mine there. im toward the end of what your starting. your gonna hate this!!! mine was running when i bought it and so far.

the list- new clutch disks, new clutch basket, new tires front and rear, new seat cover, new brakes front and rear, new wheel bearings front and rear, new chain, new fork seals, new air filter, bored the cylinder with new piston, new side panels, fork protectors and sliders. tommorow morning the bike is going to a shop for a stiffer rear spring and shock rebuild. it is gonna be a 2004 model of the 1992.

yup thats pretty much all I need. Have you found any good places on the net to get more info for the 92's or know of any good places to order parts from online? Heres another stupid question the filler hole on the right side case is that for oil or trans fluid?

i havent found anything but this. very little info to be found. 1991 to 1993 rm and rmx 125s and 250s are the only parts that will swap and not all of them. beleive me ive tried:) thats new info on shock interchangability that the mechanic told me today.

here is a site you can find used parts dealers in your area. or just search for used motorcycle parts. like i say ebay will eventually have your parts at a cheap price if you have patience to wait. do an ebay search everyday for rm 125. weisco still makes pistons and rings. dealers still can get alot of parts but wow do they cost a ton. last friday priced 1992 rm 125 rear shock at 1018 bucks. holy cow! still have aftermarket plastics available.

looking back i have saved alot and could have saved more if i found out everything i need first then start gathering the parts then take to mechanic. they always mark up parts.

good luck your gonna need it! oh yeah...and dont buy any parts i need! ha ha
