Hard to do a good compression test if the engine won't turn freely.
What happens with the plug OUT and the hole OPEN ??
You may have "dropped" a valve.
2005 Suzuki S40 Engine turns over twice then nothing?
Having issues with my 2005 Suzuki Boulevard S40 starting. Engine turns over twice then nothing. Replaced battery - No change. Checked for spark - All good there. Checked compression - 45 PSI. Could the piston rings be shot and piston sticking?

You may have "dropped" a valve.
You also have to open the throttle to do a compression test...although 45psi isn't looking good but not likely a stuck piston. Maybe a stuck valve or leaking one but an engine should run...albeit rough...with low compression. What did it run like before?....cant see this being a wear issue...what mileage does it have?
