Hello all.. Newbi here. I just financed a bike, it caught my eye, it is a pretty machine but lacking in alot of areas like sound, speed, people would say GABB but that was not achievable but never the less, i got me a boulevard c50.

Question i have.. besides getting a bigger bike, could i actually give it more power, i hear from some that say yes. The other is pipes, i need louder heavier sound. I used to own a HD 2005 dyna superglide..

Stepping around the fact that the SOUND of a motorcycle has ZERO impact on performance...

Any modifications you make to the C50 motor will only have marginal effects, unless you plan to install a turbo or a supercharger. Tweaking the EFI, putting on after-market pipes, replacing the air filter -- all of these efforts and investments won't change the much (less than 5% overall in terms of horsepower). The C50 has about 45 hp and weighs well over 500 lbs. You can invest hundreds of dollars in re-mapping the EFI, replacing the pipes, etc. - that won't change the fundamental design of the engine.

The sound you can change with mods to the stock pipes or get different pipes which is what I did on my M50. I like it's sound while not greatly louder has a much better(deeper) note. The harley you are use to has a 1441cc engine so I think it is save to say that you are never going to be satisfied with the performance of a 800cc C50. The old saying" there's no replacement for displacement" is indeed true.

Well you can believe all the reports of FANTASTIC things that add-ons did for their bikes power and be doomed to screwing around with it forever.......and maybe never having it run right again OR..................

You could just enjoy what you have until you can afford something bigger.

Modifying the pipes to make it louder is ILLEGAL so at least try not to make it too obnoxious......please.

I simply did the; drilling 8 1/2" holes in the exhaust mod. I like it, sounds way better, louder (deeper/throatier) but not obnoxiously so. And cheap :)
My son is planning to do the same on his M50...
