Hey guys,
Just replaced my throttle cable on my 74 TM250, And it fired right up. My problem now is that when i take off the bike bogs way down and stalls, as if its flooded. The bike idles fine, and will rev ok, but somethings up when i get on the gas and let the clutch out.

Im pretty sure it has something to new with putting the new cable on, all my adjustments are out of whack, just not sure what needs to be adjusted. I did clean the carb while replacing the cable, and everything internal seems to be in working order - how should i go about adjusting this thing, is it jsut a hit/miss type of thing? The carb is a Makuni (sp?) and the 2 stroke is not a premix (has a seperate oil injector for 2 stroke) and its brand new gas, so I dont think its a gas/oil problem.

Thanks!

Start by putting the needle clip on the middle groove (should be 5 or 6 grooves) . Turn your airscrew 2 turns out counter clockwise from bottom. Make sure your air filter is clean and you have a new spark plug and the fuel tap screen in the tank is clean. Also you need to make sure you set the float height to spec. If you have a service manual or the equivelent Clymer manual the info for the float height will be in there. Propper float height is critical.
