I have been trying to start my 94 GSX and it does not want to start. When i try to start it sounds as if it is trying to start but does not.
I checked the my recharged battrey and it is has the required power.
Tried using Choke but does not help.
Checked the plugs and all the 4 seems to fire properly, checked the air filter and is clean too.
I sprayed a bit of starting fluid in the air filter and tried to start, it back fired on the second try and made huge noice like a shot gun shot on the fourth try but still it does not start.
Can any one help me with this ???

getting a bit complicated for not being there, but you must remember that plugs can fire much easier out of the cylinder than they can inside, under compression. Check out the wear on the plugs. Does the bike crank over nice and quick?? When you pulled the plugs out, were they wet, are you getting fuel into the cylinder? Have you ever seen the bike run, was it parked for a while? Has there been any resent work done to the bike, and now it won't run? Obviously the more info the better, fire away and I'll see what I can do for you. How long has the gas that is in it, been in it???

Plugs seems to be OK (i guess) When i took them out 2 were wet of the 4. I cleaned them and tried again and it backfired.
I did not try to start it after pulling the plugs out. Can try it out this weekend.
I ran the bike abotu 3-4 months back and since then has been parked in a closed garagge.
No Recent work done on the bike.
Gas has been there since 4 months.

had same problem twice in the last 3 months - first time i had it in the shop - new plugs, coil check, new ht leads and plugs, carb balance and tune, worked like a dream. 600 miles later same problem - drained fuel tank this time and cleaned petcock v.gently - still no go, it was the plugs again - only 600 miles mind but they were filty not from the engine or sooting, just from the pure amount of road filth. Dunno if i helped u but i feel better knowing i'm not the only one

Starts with a starting fluid

But now I see a different problem, it doe snto start easily every time. I think I should drain my fuel. Any things to be taken care while doign this ???

I would pursue the fuel issue, after 4 months the jets can get snotty. Also as stated above it sound suspiciously like timing. Are the plug wires on correctly, could it have jumped a tooth on the timing chain? Before tearing you carbs maybe I would get a service manual and check the timing. It will explain how to line the marks up properly.

I would still replace the plugs. If they're suspect at all, it is probably worth replacing them. When mine had bad plugs, it backfired when I tried to start it. Made one hell of a lot of noise when it backfired too.
