hey guys.is the first 600 mi tune up really a must.what do they do and how much does it cost.on the service manual it really seems like all they ck other than oil change is to see any loose bolts or something.i do have a extended full warrenty for next five years so should i really worry about this issue other than getting a oil change?

Yes. I believe they are supposed to also check your valve clearances. Not completely sure on the GSX-R 600 though. You could do most of it yourself really.

I would get it done regardless if you do it or not. Skimping on service and maintenance early in the bike's life will cost you a lot more $$$ in the future.

Motorcycles are not cars, and they need three or four times the maintenance. That is why they are expensive to maintain correctly. Like owning a Ferrari vs. a Chevy. That is why you learn to do it yourself. Save the money and know it was done and done right.

I worked on a couple of bikes this past weekend that were REAL bad due to lack of maintenance. Real shame too.
