My suzuki 550 is leaking gas out of the ait box just bought it and the air box is home made out of aluminum with a single pod filter that looks like it being crush from the suction should I remove it and try starting it with no air box and see if it leaks then ?

This leaking of fuel is likely NOT "caused" by the home-made air intake.....but if it is fairly easy to remove, give it a try.
Unless your carb is physically damaged, fuel leaks like that are almost always caused by a "sunk" float in the carb or a worn out needle valve that the float operates.......and the float bowl is overflowing.

Not that I know of. Not an easy way, at least.
Some dis-assembly would be required.

AND.....if it has a vacuum operated petcock (fuel shut off valve) then a failed diaphragm in there can allow gas to pass too.

So I just went to go start it and gas is pouring out of the overflow from the carbs idk I think I will have to take
