If it doesnt leak, just Bondo it and re-paint it. But, what i would worry about is if theres a dent in the tank, its been dropped/wrecked. What else is wrong? How hard did this guy ride this bike? How did he take care of it/maintence..

ummm....the bike has not been crashed...it was sitting in his garage when something fell on it denting it......it doesnt leak but it's pritty wide spread.....i was thinking bondo and throwing some paint on too but i dont know what kind of bondo to use....so getting it removed is out of the question? The bike is in good shape, only 2500 kms on it it's an 89 suzuki gsxr750....i might have to do something with the seals on the carburator....thats another question do i have to get that al re-built or can i do it at home?

thanks

Sorry Joe but from your post I would hazard to say that you don't seem like the type that should be buying a 25 yr old bike that is going to be needing constant attention. If you have to ask about fixing a dent in the tank what are you going to do when the problem is more serious and you will be unable to find exact replacement parts ?.

Shop around for a new/used tank or can you get at the dent from the inside using some type of tool to push it back out, can you suck it out with a plunger or other suction device, could always drill a screw into the dent and use that to pull it back out, then plug the hole with a welder.Etc.....
