Ok bought an alarm, model KG-9D, can be viewed at http://www.motoguide.com/kg9d.shtml

My problem is simply with the remote start configuration. According to the alarm wire diagram (which can be seen at the above page) the Dark Blue wire should connect to the ignitions ACC line -- which according to my bikes book that is the heavy orange wire comming out of the ignition (on ignition set to start this wire is simply shorted to power).
My problem is this -- I have everything wired in and it all seems to work. When I attempt the remote start from the alarm the bike's normal functions (fuel pump, lights, etc) turn on and the bike's starter engages. However the bike will not start. Now if I manualy turn the ignition switch to ON and use the alarms remote start button - the bike starts fine. So this tells me there is something else that the ignition switch completes. According to the bike's wiring diagram there are 3 pairs going in/out of the ignition switch. Red (power in), Orange (power out), Grey (meter lights), Brown (tail light), Orange/Red (ecu), Black/White (ground). With the ignition in the on position Red shorts to Orange, Grey shorts to Brown,
and Orange/Red shorts to Black/White. No either the book is wrong or I'm missing something. Has anyone ever done this before? Or does anyone know what I'm missing. If I manually put the Orange/Red to ground while attempting to start it has no change. But when the key is in the ON position and/or the alarm is attempting to remote start the Orange/Red wire is reading 12Vdc. Any help suggestions or anything... please

anyone...?

Ok well I have found something that may be my issue.. looking for some feedback.
From what I have read there is an 'Anti Theft' in the ignition switch itself.
To bypass this the orange/red comming from the ecu to the ignition must be sent to ground using a 100ohm resistor. Has anyone experienced or performed this?

Spider--
not sure what you are asking for by what bike I have fitted it to.
It is a new alarm and I am trying to install it on my 97 GSX-R600V.
I can post the wiring diagram I have for the bike and also the diagram for the alarm if you may offer any input.

The 600 was the bit i needed to look up the wiring for that bike..

The Resistor sounds feasable as some Kawasaki's use a duel voltage system from the Ignition switch.

Yes post the diagram please and i'll have a look.

Ok I have scanned the wire diagram for the gsx-r600v
and placed it at:
http://www.techbs.net/joe/bike.htm

the alarm wire diagram can be found at:

http://www.techbs.net/joe/alarm.htm

thanks for the help..
let me know if you need anything else.

So far I have it wired as follows:

Dark Blue wire from alarm goes to solid orange wire on ignition switch
Yellow wire from alarm goes to yellow/green wire to starter relay
Green/Yellow wire from alarm goes to brown wire on tail lights
Red wire from alarm goes to battery +
Black wire from alarm goes to battery -
White wire from alarm goes to Red wire on alarm
I have not hooked up started disable

got it

Ok well it was the resistor thing that did the trick.
I simply placed a 100 ohm resistor on the oranged/red wire comming out of the ignition switch and simply added the resistor goign to ground.
