I took and passed my advanced MSF riding course this weekend. It was a good class. It focused on low speed maneuvering, corning, and obstacle avoidance. Out of 12 people in the class three of them laid their new bikes down. The three bikes were an 05 Harley VRod, (Nice looking bike), an 05 Honda Valkyrie Rune, and an 05 BMW. They were all pretty big bikes. It was a little nerve racking watching these bikes down. There was minimal damage and no one got hurt. I finally got to lean the C50 down enough to scrape the floor boards. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I would highly recommend this class to anyone that is considering it.

I know what you mean, but you will run into those kinds of streets sooner or later. At least after the class you will know how to handle the bike. Our lot was pretty crappy too but you get used to it.

i am on an advanced defensive riders course next weekend - paid for by the army (as they do over here). Am looking forward to it, and i do think i will learn things, even though i have been riding for a while.
It's the people who think they have nothing to learn that scare me Good job! I'm looking forward to the MSF ERC this year. :)

I'm a new rider myself, and something a friend has always told me.. "Anytime you get a chance to take another motourcycle course, do it." The Army offers a free course here on base, too.. so I am going to jump on that as soon as I can.

In my MSF a couple of weeks ago, the only bike dropped was a small [but fairly new] Kawasaki. Wasn't a hard fall, but hard enough to turn heads when the lady dropped it.

You could pretty much tell from the beginning.. who was going to pass the course, and who wasn't. 2/12 failed. I read an article the other day about how "Failing the MSF course may save your life", and I think it's true. One of the girls who failed the course.. OWNS a 750, and was going to learn to ride on it.
