Comments would be appreciated from those who have gotten aftermarket grips. I have a 2004 Volusia 800. I went to my dealer the past weekend to inquire about Iso Grips. He did not like them because they do away with the handlebar weights and he feels they increase vibration. So what do you all think about other alternatives for grips? Or could the Iso Grips work somehow? Thanks.

I just ordered a set of the ISO grips and put them on last week. I love them, think they look and feel great. As you said, they do away with the weights, but I still think they feel better. The rubber cushions in the grip absorb most of the shock. Also, air flows under your hand between the rubber, keeping your hands cool. Of course I only have had them for a week, so might wait for someone who has had them longer. Got mine new off E-bay for about 58 after shipping...dealership wanted 64 after tax, so saved a little.

I removed the weights from my Intruder bars and never noticed. If you think the tiny bit of extra vibration will bother you, fill one end of the bar with silicone, let it dry, then fill the bars with BBs and seal the other end.

The ISO grips are great, absorbing vibration wonderfully, and gripping your hand well without having to squeeze real hard. Get the optional throttle boss that allows you to keep the throttle open with the heal of your hand, and your hand will feel better after 500 miles than it does after 50 with the stock grips.

Just purchased some ISO grips on EBAY

I bought my ISO grips last night (around 49 bucks after shipping) not bad. Never did like the thin, skinny little grips on the M50. Have heard nothing but good comments about them.

On another note.. almost de-baffled the pipes over the weekend. Decided not to do it after much thought  .

But I did find some very nice drag pipes (Christmas maybe) will wait until then. Did'nt want to drill on my nice new bike.

My GF wants to know what to get me for X-mas so I figure I'll point her to the black ISO grips.
