So the weather in DC is great. I took the bike out this weekend for several hours worth of riding. I went up to Annapolis, out across the Bay Bridge, and back through DC. If you know anything about DC this time of year, everyone and their mother is OBSESSED with these stupiud Cherry Blossom trees. Literally it attracts so many people that the roads are impossible to negotiate. Well I tried to get us into the city and we got stuck in traffic really bad. We were in traffic for well over 30 minutes and had gone less than a mile. They also made this new law in DC that if a pedestrian steps out onto the street (no matter where they are...cross walk or not) you have to stop and let them cross. Well people were taking advantage of this all over the city, obnoxiously so. We get stuck at a light by the WW2 memorial, and the light turns green. People have no F*ckin sense and continue walking out in the street so we cant move. I open my visor and yell "Get the F*CK out of the way!". I get some strange stares, but no one moves. So I start revving my engine, and like on instinct, they move. I pop my clutch and the front end comes almost 2 feet off the floor. I rode the wheelie for about 20 feet before I let go of the gas and put the front end back on the floor. I originally meant to just speed away from teh light (I had plenty of room to do so) but I didnt let the engine calm down enough before letting go of the clutch.

So that was my first wheelie and I have to say, I enjoyed it...ALOT! I scared the hell out of the people that were around, but I gotta say it was pretty cool.

Call me a squid if you want to, but it was mostly an accident. Anyone else care to share their first wheelie story?

First wheelie probably scared me more than anyone near by!

I don't wheelie usually, but it feels pretty good accelerating over the brow of a hill or even a bump in the road and the front rises under power, feels good!

My first wheelie~
Age 5
Wheels~ tri-cycle~
Concept: some innate idea that i could just ride over a 4" bump and "jump" down the 1' drop into the carport~
Result~ stunned silence, throbbing skull, followed by crying. . .

Needless to say, it was later followed up with the grand idea of a sheet of plywood, some milk carts, a scooter and two garbage cans behind the ramp.
well, just guess how it ended, add some road rash and shaking head from my dad and thats bout it!
