I've been using my garmin nuvi 205 with a ram mount for a couple years....mainly on 3 big trips. For $100 it has served me very well. I've even ridden in a little rain with it. The only problem I have with it is the usb connection is a little loose from disconnecting it all the time and the battery doesnt hold charge for very long. I have a power cable to my handle bars so the battery issue is no problem.

Basically if your on a budget you can buy a nuvi 205 to get ya by. I can go through 6 of them before I spend as much as you would for a true bike gps.

Choosing a custom route is fairly easy I just add point on the roads I want to hit up and it creates routes on the fly.

My buddy has a tom tom for his truck and its not as user friendly as my little cheapo nuvi.....its great.

Just E-Bay'ed a Garmin 255WT, hope it works as well as yours. Heard the Tom-Toms don;t do as well on a bike.
