I'm sorry guys...I apologize in advance for the rant. As you read this, keep in mind that I'm a newbie, 900 miles logged, first and dream bike...waited 15 loooong years for my baby...
So I ride into work today, 67 miles...beautiful and built up some more confidence on my tight turns and light twisties. Ah, the day is off to a great start! Anyhoo, I park my bike in the parking garage (secured with gates due to my line of work and the FAA headquarters), backed in and in a position that it can be seen easily so no one will whip in and hit it and dragged my butt on into work. I worked my tail off till around 9:00 pm. I come out of the building, walk over to my bike and start getting geared up. Wait...something isn't right...NOOOOO, son of a *****. My left mirror is swung in, clutch lever bent all to hell, can barely reach it with my hand on the bar, gouges to my left fairings and my (I think it's what it is) engine cover scratched up. I just look at my poor baby dumbfounded. Here's the pisser, she's on the kickstand with no damage to it. It took a minute to process...there's no way it had been hit by a car or accidentally "knocked" over. The kickstand would have had to been damaged, most likely snapped off or bent to hell. I made sure it was seated properly on the stand before I dismounted, flat surface and it was dry cement. The only conclusion that I can come up with that would make sense is that some moron(s) thought it'd be cool to have a seat on MY baby, bring it up off the kickstand returning it to the up position then realizing that the bars were locked, lost their balance and dropped her. They or he must have righted her, dropped the stand and taken off. It wasn't reported or I would have been notified, all vehicles must be registered with security and have a decal. The sleaze(s) just bailed. I couldn't bend the clutch lever back so it was a tricky 67 mile ride home. I had ride the whole way covering the clutch pulled in a bit on the play since my hand would've slip trying to grab for it and because it was so bent, the lever had to be pretty far out to hit the friction zone.
Most likely, I'll never find out who did it so I'm left holding the bag and they will not have to take any responsibility. I'm just so angry...
Thanks for letting me vent...if anyone will understand my anger and feeling of violation, it'd be my fellow biking community.
