Hello,

I'm the proud owner of a 1996 Bandit 600. Lately i have noticed that my "girl" is consuming a little of oil. I've done around 5000 Km, and the bike overall has about 35000Km.
I've seen that the bike isn't burning oil, because it isn't smoking!!
I've tried to see if there is a leak, but i haven't seen none.
Is this a normal behaviour for my bandit?

how much oil is it using? That will determine if it's normal. Oh, and it quite possiby IS burning oil even though you don't see it. My old Katana burned 1/2 qt every 500-800 miles(way too much) and didn't smoke.

A 600 Bandit shouldn't be burning any oil (the 1200's had some piston problems or something, but Zook owned up to that after much bad press and has supposedly fixed most of the problem by this time).

If it's low, and you don't have a puddle, it's burning some somewhere. What weight and type of oil do you use? Does it burn all year, or just in the cold weather?

I don´t really know because i only recently purchased it! I've thought that could be the oil, so I'm thinking that I should change it and use the recomended by Suzuki!!??
Meanwhile, I'll be on the lookout for any problems!

Yeah, change the oil and try to get it REAAAL close to 'the mark.' Then, check it regularly to see if it's burning.

I'm the farthest thing from a mechanic, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I can't believe that "The Chad" hasn't come along and offered something constructive. He usually jumps right on these things!
