Is there there any difference between these 2 other than riding position and engine size/type? from what i'm seeing, they went for about the same price...

reviews say that the sv650 is more in the sportbike cat. than the standard, and the bandit is more in the standard cat. than the sportbike... wth?

the differences are as simple as you stated, engine config and ride position. the SV probably has a small weight advantage over the Bandit.

both great bikes.

is one sportier than the other? perhaps the SV, but since both make similar peak horsepower a good rider on the Bandit will be faster than an average rider on the SV.

guess you will not discover the real differences 'til you ride both.
