yea very good point on the bike dropping, its going to happen sooner or later, heh. My friends brother started on a gsxr 1000 a few weeks ago... said it scared the hell out of him. the idiot doesnt even have a license lol... now thats stupid. but suzukigirl suggested the gs500 and im taking that into concideration. thanks for the input
Just curious, was this the same guy that lost it?

Maybe a good thread for a sticky! My sincere condolences guy.

yes same guy... i knew it was going to happen to him, he was very wreckless. it doesnt change my mind on getting a bike, just makes me realize how careful you must be. oh and he didnt lose control of the bike, an SUV pulled out in front of him in a median... but im sure he was doing over 100mph

I remember that thread. I was scared for him then, and I'm sorry for your loss.

<I'm "upgrading" to another 600 next year. Even at 20,000+ miles, I just don't think I need an open class racebike.>

[EDIT]

From the other forum:

I saw the accident, its kinda hard for me cause we had just rode the night before. People ride safe, i had never seen a bike that bad, he must have hit that truck over 100 mph. RIP
Folks . . . 100 mph. For everything there is a time and place. Choose your locations for your triple digit runs wisely. There-but-for-the-Grace-of-God-go-I, but we all need to keep our heads screwed on straight when we're out there actin' a fool.

i was on my way home from softball last night on the bike and saw the candle light vigil and the news out there on the corner so i went back and talked to some of the people there. a lot of people crying.

i told them i didnt know him, but as another MC rider i wanted to pay my respects. they appreciated me stopping. told them i had heard about it here and they were interested in knowing the website.

i stayed about 10 minutes then headed on. i am going to do the ride next week with them.
