Ok I need to lower my bike and I think an inch or at most an inch and half would be needed.

What would you guys recommend?? SV650S 2005

I'm 5'7" 150lbs if that matters.

PM Suzuki Girl. She had her SV lowered and seems to like the result. Being 6' 2" I have no experience to offer. :-|

Dog-bones for the rear and lower the triple tree for the front
But who makes a good set of Dog Bones he could use? Failure of a cheap set could be bad news or even fatal! :|

Yes, I had mine lowered by using dogbones...the dealership did it for me before I took my bike home. Actually, in my case, I was extra lucky because they had accidentally lowered a faired version of the SV instead of a naked version for another girl. She came in and they realized they had lowered the wrong bike. So, they just happened to have my '04 yellow SV already lowered for me when I came in there...

Talk about fate!!!! Not to mention the zero down financing too!!! ;)

Sorry, I don't know the brand that they used, but they charged me about $100 for the lowering

I don't understand how you don't fit it. I'm shorter than you and can ride my friends sv650 k3 w/o any problems.[/QUOTE

The riding is easy.

Until you come to a stop on an off camber road!

I just think I would feel more comfortable if it was a tad lower. Now to get it back to the dealership to get it lowered. Have to ask my friend again for his truck, geez I need to buy a truck...

Edit: I noticed I might be shorter that I told you all earlier. The reason being is I am on the balls of my feet and I have boots on (Dr. Martins) and I am still on the balls..

i'm 5'8" but i have short legs. my friend who is 5'8" has longer legs then me. we are both 5'8". he fits on bikes better then me. so leg length has ALOT to do with it.

Yo I understand. Backing up when you are tip-toeing is a biotch. I have heard that reducing the foam in the seat is usually the best because "sometimes" lowering a bike can mess with the handeling. Just my 2 cents. Again though, Suzukigirl prolly knows more about this than I do.

I wouldn't mess with the seat unless you're going to UPGRADE it to something softer! (I'm looking at getting the gel seat this winter)...

My bike was lowered between 1.5 and 2 inches on both front and back and the handling is great. There are NO problems at all! Stock, I also was on the balls of my feet, which I could've kept, but I feel much more comfortable when I can touch flat-footed.

Here is a site I found that has the lowering kits available...I'll keep looking for additional sites...
