I'm new to the game. Just ordered a 2005 GSXR-1000 and I'm planning a road trip for next summer. I've been out of the loop of bikes for a while. The last bike I owned was a 1995 ZX-6. I don't know of too many events that happen throughout the States. Any suggestions? I'm pretty jacked about the new ride, though I've never sat my ass on a Suzuki before. :lol:

Well, let's just say it's not your ZX 6! If you 've been off bikes a while, you need to find a big empty parking lot to start with. Then practice practice practice. You just bought a full on race bike that comes with a license plate! She will scare the hell out of you if you don't respect her.

I've had my 02 since April of 02, and I ride a lot of miles. She still surprises the hell out of me. So get good gear, wear it, and get back into riding slowly. Oh, and :welcomes:

Thanks. Respect for the bike, I have lots. Fear, not so much. On another note. Does anyone know if the yellow color of the 05 GXSR's is any different than that of last year and so forth. I wanted to go with the yellow/black but was told that it was a bright neon yellow. Much like that of the dirtbikes and ATV's. :?

Dolphan, Im not sure if the 04's or 03's came in yellow. I think the 05 and earlier ones are the same color yellow. I dont know alot about GSXRs, hopfully someone will know for sure.

The yellow is the suzuki yellow you are familiar with.

Now, on the 600, the yellow will feature a blue stripe going to the rear instead of the black/yellow we are used to.

Thanks LayinLo_usmc. The yellow that the boyz at the shop were talking about made it an easy decision concerning color. Now I'm back stuck between two colors. Blue/white,or Black/Yellow. I quess it doesn't matter that much, I'll be taking it to paint soon enough. Thanks again.

Well Suzuki Canada finally got back to me. It seems as if the yellow is different.

2004 GSX-R1000K4 has a code of YU9 = Pearl Orpiment Yellow

While the new 2005 model is Pearl Flash Yellow.

I need to see the thing in front of me in order to make a decision
