Hey Everyone,

I just got a phonecall a few minutes ago and the news wasn't good. One of my good friends passed away yesterday evening. He was on his r6 going home after work when a guy in a suburban ran a red light doing 55 mph or so and t boned him. I believe he was pronounced dead on the scene. I'm still in so much shock now...it seems like only yesterday all of us were eating at his house cracking jokes and working on cars. Now he's gone, leaving behind his wife.

I met Mike through the local supra club and he was always the guy who could literally fix anything and get any part...always willing to talk and laugh. He bailed me out of engine problems with my supra many times when there was no one else to turn to. Never can forget all the fun at the meets, canyon runs and cruises and just sitting around enjoying great cars and even better friendships. Now it's a memory...can't believe it...I want to just wake up and say what a bad dream, but I guess it's not...

It's just so heartbreaking...to lose someone like that, never thinking it'll happen to you or someone you care about and then it just does. Please guys, I may not know any of you personally but we are all linked through our common enjoyment. I know it's been said over and over, but be careful on the roads...there are so many f-in idiots out there that don't care for anyone but themselves. It's not always going to be your mistake...just watch your back. Sportbike, cruiser, chopper, tourer...anything you may ride, just be safe. God be with you Mike, keep on riding and boosting all the way... :(

So sorry to hear about Mike. Traffic here can be very dangerous. Please post the arrangements and any memorial ride info. Was he or you a member of a local club? Perhaps so local riders could do a benifit to help those he leaves behind?

That's terrible. Sorry to hear that.

I saw a bonehed run a red light at the corner of Highway 51 and Interstate 385 this morning. In the fog, he's driving 10 mph over the speed limit. Going so fast that he's not even noticing the friggin' redlights. Luckily, the guy (or gal) behind me wasn't as dumb as this pelican-head and saw him coming.

He ran it flat out, at speed . . . never tapped the brakes.

Again, sorry about your friend. There, but for the Grace of God, go I. :-(

Wow, I hope the guy in the suburban pays for what he's done!
Keep us posted on any updates with that situation.

I'm very sorry to hear about this...reminds me to make sure I don't take a green light for granted and make sure I'm watching both ways for jerks like that guy!!! :(

Damn, it breaks my heart anytime I hear of someone close passing especially due to that of another person's negligence. I'm terribly sympathetic for your and his family's loss. God be with him (your friend) and all of those who knew him.

so sorry to hear that~ I lost two really good friends last year on the same weekend in seperate accidents so i know the shock.
My heart goes out to his family and I would definately suggest a benefit fund set up for the wife. Even though he's gone, things still have to be paid. And thats a huge stress often overlooked.
Everyone just take an extra second before getting on to remember the risks and the hazards out there!

hey guys...just wanted to say thank you for all your condolences...it's really a rough time for his family and friends right now. While I was riding to work and back today, that's about all I could think about. I'm not sure yet when the funeral arrangements for him will be since so far his family hasn't (and understandably so) discussed the situation with any of his friends much. As much as I'd like to organize a memorial ride of sorts...it's my understanding that his wife and family wasn't pro-motorcycle at all, and with this happening...I doubt it would be very welcomed unfortunately. All we can do is pray that eventually everything heals. And so far, I don't have any intention of giving up riding on account of this tragedy...so far. It's just so hard though with everyone now on my case both from my mother and friends. They keep on saying "we don't want to bury you too one day" and deep down, those words scare me more than ever before. :-(

Sorry to hear about this ... but sometimes it doesn't even take a car - there was a bike fatality here last night - a biker was hit by lightning during a thunderstorm and pronounced dead at the scene.

It definitely makes one think ...
