Brake Repair

OK, I'm going out on a limb and ask a pretty basic question. What's the easiest way to replace the pads, front and rear on my 01' TL1000R? I know I could pull the whole caliper off, but can't I get the pads out by pulling just the clips and pins? I am also looking for a paper Manual, not a CD if anyone's got one or has a link to one.

I'm new to the Board and looks like you guys got good advice. Can someone hook me up???
