Yesterday my '05 C50T was delivered to me. I drove it the 10 blocks to work and back home. Today, I rode it for 53 miles, when the engine began to clank and the check oil light came on. I checked the oil and none was to be seen in the sight glass. I had to add two quarts to see oil in the sight glass. The engine doesn't clank anymore. It just clicks. And the oil in the sight glass now is foamy on top. I'm upset. I think that, maybe, the dealer didn't fill the crankcase during prep. Should I demand a replacment bike?

They sold you a bike with no oil in it or it has a terrible leak somewhere. Either way you've got a brand new bike so they should make it good. I would shoot for a replacement bike because that engine is likely going to have some significant issues after being run with no oil in it.

Take it back ASAP because the longer you wait, the less credibility you will have.

Hopefully you have a reasonable dealer. I would stand your ground on it,, of course they may try to throw that "Did you read your owners manual stuff at you where it goes over the checking the oil every time before you ride". That will probably be the cop out for them,, but then again I think Suzuki requires them to go over the bike with a check list. At least the dealer I bought my bike from had a checklist that required them to go over every aspect of the bike with the purchaser,, and part of my indoctrination was them showing me where the oil sightglass is and that I had oil in it.

But I do agree with the rest,, knowing from experience with Lemon laws and dealerships (cars and trucks),, that the longer you wait the worse it will be trying to prove your case. Good Luck with it. May the force be with you young "wink"!!!!

Monday morning... be waiting on the dealer to open. No excuse for this sort of thing.
