I have a 2005 Suzuki C50 805cc it is fuel injected and I want to know can I drill out the baffles without causing any damage to the engine? I really like the stock exaust look but not loud enough. Any suggestions?

Drilled pipes

Hey Hoot,
I drilled my back plates on my C50 about a thousand miles ago. No ill effects,, just some good sound. Drilled 8 holes in each back plate (7/16 inch holes). That was the biggest bit I had. I have heard of no de-baffles on the C50 yet. Generally on the vol with carbs, they would re-jet after a debaffle. With the EFI, we would need to re-map, and I have not heard of any being done yet. But YES you can drill the back plates, get a much better sound, and from my experience,, no problems..
Be safe...

I drilled 3 7/16" holes in each baffle. It sounds good, no popping or backfiring...I'll upload a file with the sound in a little bit.

OK, here is a small vid of my drilled exhaust. I can't believe how crappy it sounds in a garage, but it's 10:30 pm and didn't want to piss any neighbors off, lol. It would sound better not resonating off an aluminum garage door. It really does sound great outside...
