i just made an avatar. but i just wanted to know if we can have pics in our signature area or not? if so what is the biggest size the pics can it be? and how do i do it?

Just click on the Quick Links tab to the upper right just under the Private Messages scroll down to Edit Signature and add the pic there. Just click on the picture icon and go from there.

As for the size I would think keeping the image under 200pixels in height would be PC.

The image needs to be hotlinked from another location. In theory, it could be anysize, that's why we ask to not exagerate. Think about your fellow members who will have to see you signature at every post you'll do.

Content of the image also needs to be suitable with the sites guidelines. We are a family-friendly site.

Well this is 622 x 150.

Not overly obnoxious in size but gets the point across. IMHO anything larger in size could start to rub some people the wrong way on this board. And I'm sure you don't want to start rubbing anyone on this board just yet.

Please don't. Take some nice pictures, post them in the Photo-box, and put a link to that thread in your sig. Having pictures directly in your sig just slows down the whole server.

I quit going to a forum because of the sig pics. Every post had a freakin 5x7 photo in the sig, talk about annoying, especially since I have dial up at work. (now you guys know how to get rid of me....shucks)

We have two options, either allow pix or not. We do not have the ability to set size limits on pix in signatures. So overdo it and we will have to set that option to "NO".

in other forums, they limit the size (especially the height) to 100 pixels tall. the width could be around 600. by "limit the size" they dont actually have a way to prevent anything bigger, but they ASK not to make it bigger and if it is moderators ask it to be made smaller or remove it themselves and post a link to the rules on sig banners in your sig. kinda funny and effective.

i would vote for a 600 x 100 (or 120) to be allowed. of course, it needs to adhere to the rules of content that is acceptable.
