car backs into bike

I am parked outside a bank for no more than 20 minutes. I am at a metered spot and there is a car in front of me and one in back. I come out to find my bike on the ground. Two witnesses tell me the guy gets in his car backs right into bike and just takes off. One witness was about 10 feet from the drivers window when he was backing up and said once he hit it he looked at him and just drove off. Talk about taking the fun out of a day of riding. Nobody got the plates or called it in. Thankfully the frame sliders saved the fairing and all that got scratched up was the bar end and the mirror. I don't know, I picked up my bike just in disbelief that people dont care that much about other peoples stuff.

That sucks! I had a similiar experince only my damages came to 5k on a 6 month old bike! Uninsured driver backed over mine right in front of my townhouse driveway. I heard it and ran out before he could bail. He was high or something. He had walked around my bike to get into his truck in the first place. Like he didn't see it there then?

Glad your bike survived. Ride Safe!

I'd be interested also to know what you're talking about. I've ridden bikes off and on for 30 years and have never heard of a frame slider.

Frame Slider above the SUZUKI and below the clutch lever. And yes they do work. They don't stop all damage but it does limit the damage.
