I realized my Jeep can't be shifted with my left foot.

When I stopped at a light this morning, I caught my left my foot giving two sharp jabs to the floorboard. I realized that was when I usually downshift two gears for slowing at the the light.

Silly me.

eh - I'd say you were normal... just so long as you don't reach over for the gear shift with your right hand when your riding your bike

Reminders to self (attach to dashboard of 4-wheeled vehicle before driving):

1. NO lane splitting.

2. No wheelies or stoppies.

3. Do not park in the little striped off areas in parking lots.

4. Do not go to ground with left foot at stop lights.

5. Revving engine with clutch in will not impress anyone.

6. Bring a lot more $ for gas.

7.Do not attempt to shut off engine by putting down the sidestand.

8. Don't even think about knee dragging.

Meatman, you crack me up!

He probably gets away with murder, because he can make his wife laugh. A guy with a sense of humor like that is pretty unstoppable - and irresistable! :D

That one doesn't work for me ... My cage is a VW Golf 1.9 TDI and I use about 6.2 liters of diesel per 100km. My bike has a 1.4 liter gasoline engine, and consumes about the same (6.2 liters per 100km). The difference here is about 5 cents per liter.

pffffttt. My rodeo gets 21-22mpg... on the highway. In town best is about 17. My C50's been running round 50mpg. We're behind the curve a bit, but round here gas ('scuse me - petrol  ) is running close to $2.00 a gallon for regular 87 octane. Biiigggg diff for me.

Oh - Fiver... when you were 'shifting' with your left foot, was your left hand squeezing the wheel unusually hard? :D

I'm trying to remember, but its all a blur.

I think I tried shifting right before I crawled out on the hood for a stoppie. That stuff is all timing, you know.

Here's some quick math for you ... at the moment, gasoline (95 octane - "normal" here) costs CHF 1.50 per liter = CHF 5.68 per gallon = US$4.73 per gallon. Diesel is CHF 1.60 per liter = ... = US$ 5.04 per gallon.

And in Germany gas is even more expensive, due to the "environmental" taxes.

This ain't gonna stop me from riding my Suzi in the future, though!

I've done a similar thing at work.

All my personal vehicles are standard and one night(well EARLY morning) I was VERY sleepy as we were approaching a hospital when I stomped on the "clutch". OOPS!! no clutch on an AUTOMATIC Ford ambulance! I ended up stomping on the brake and scaring the hell out of my partner(who was sleeping) Thankfully we weren't bringing a patient in.
