My dad told me a story from back in the late 40's about a buddy of his that worked in a Chrome plating factory. He did his "Indian" ALL Chrome, then went on a road trip, from Wisconsin to California. He made it as far as Colorado. He got a "Severe" case of sunburn.

Of course back then, you didn't need any stinking gear, just a T-shirt, jeans and boots. Leather Jacket if it was cold.

He'd be polishing and cleaning just to get it ready for the next YEAR!!
This is one reason that I am putting NO chrome on my gixxer. I was sick and tired of polishing my Harley last year. Lace wheels, exhaust, levers, sissy bar, handle bars, forwards, mirrors, headlight housing, forks, rear shocks, blah, blah, blah.
