I just bought a 93 RM 125 and need to know what the proper oil to fuel ratio is. Also, what type of 2 cycle oil and what octane gas are supposed to be used?

I use suzuki brand oil and the lowest octane gas for my 2001 RM125. Ask your local suzuki dealer about the mix ratio.

Ratio can be anything from about 20/1 to 40/1 usually recommend middle ground 30/1. Depends on how you ride the bike, flat out crazy riding for long periods go with the higher ratio ( more oil ), relaxed backcountry cruising go for lower ratio ( less oil ).

If everything in the engine is ok and it still smokes a lot reduce the oil.

I recommend Amsoil 2 stroke oil (if you can find it). When in doubt I mix everything to 32:1. Always with premium fuel. two-strokes seem to run a lot better with premium. Good gas and oil, and mixed properly, can make all the difference for how your bike runs.

I know everyone will tell you something different, but the factory recommends a 32:1 mixture with their brand of premix with 92 octane gas. I have an '03 RM250 and run 40:1 with 92 octane and I use the Maxima Super M premix. Not much smoke and lubes well. Good Luck

i run bel ray oil 32:1 with premium in my 250rms. works out great
