Okay, so I sold my 04 Gixxer 600 in anticipation of buying an 05 750, since I really liked the power of the bike. Not that my 600 was any slouch in the performance department or anything, but I do enjoy giving my wife a ride on the bike (not always with the motor on either) so the 750's motor was better for carrying a passenger IMO.

After waiting and waiting and being told by the dealer it will be in anyday now, my impatience got the best of me. Hence, I bought another bike:

I hope this doesn't mean I can no longer participate on this forum, but something about this Ducati got ahold of me. I still love Suzuki's and Gixxers especially, so someday I may get another as a possible track bike. Anyone wanna share their winnings from the Lotto?

A sweet machine for sure, but I wouldn't want to work on it.

know what you mean

Nice machine. I'm torn on the 05 750 issue myself. I just sold my stock yellow and black 2002 750 w/ 4K on the clock for $6K and have the opportunity to either go for the $99/month special financing on an 05 750 or pick up a 2002 750 in blue and white with 4700 on the clock, yosh trs trioval, carbon ministalk signals, front and rear LP stands, and a HJC helmet to match the bike for $6K. I'm already getting impatient so much that I may jump on the first reasonable deal the comes my way.

Jesus, I didn't realize that was a full size bike. Theres something about that pic that makes it look like a model or a micro-machine...you know a 1/24 scale?

Once I figured out it was a real bike, man thats nice. Let me know how nice a Ducati is, I don't know crap about em.

In my opinion you will be better off to wait on the new 750. I had an 02 myself and sold it for an 04. the difference is daylight and dark. the new model is just a superior bike to the 02 models believe me.

So that's the 749 Dark? How expensive are they?? (If you don't mind me asking...)
I got it for a good deal, but MSRP on the bike is just under 12K. I know, I know...not exactly inexpensive but what can I say...love at first sight.

It's real. My 170 lbs. bootie won't get around too quickly on a 1/24 scale bike. The background on the bike is blurred for effect, but it's definitely real.

As far as how the bike is, I'm very happy with it. It's a V-Twin that sounds so different than the Japanese inline 4's. I say different meaning it's not necessarily better...just different. Very torquey motor, but my 04 Gixxer definitely wound up a lot quicker with a much higher redline to boot. I love the geometry of the Ducati though. It's lower, longer, and just suits me a lot better albeit it is heavier than the Gixxers. Some of the nice things it comes with include steel braided brake lines, Marchesini wheels with Brembo brakes, undertail exhaust, a theft deterrent system (computer chip in key), and a very different display (pictured below - sorry flash washed out display) just to name a few.

Thanks for all the compliments.

Wow....almost $12,000 new, huh? That's way too rich for my blood, but it sure does look sweet.

Here's a picture of a 2004 model from my dealer ... he's selling this one for CHF 16'700 ($14,350) with 500 km on the clock.
I bought it with 0 miles for less than U.S. MSRP ($11,995) out the door. Must be more expensive in Switzerland.
