Ok, here's the deal, my mike was laid down (wasn't me.. which makes it worse), and the exhaust on the right side is messed up. I'm re-doing everything, half of it is already sanded down for paint, but the exhaust is screwed. I would like a single exhaust pipe without spending 5-7 hundred just on that, then a jet kit on top of it. I have a low budget. I was wondering if I could just get a single aftermarket (used) muffler, and get a pipe custom made to go from the stock header to the pipe. If it would be too much, I have a welder, and can get pipe. I could put it where I wanted it, and it would look sweet. Would it sound good? If I wanted a fast bike I would have bought one, I just want a good sound, and not to loose any performance.

Any comments? Would this work? Any specific muffler I'd have to get, or want to get?

EDIT: '95 GSX600 by the way!

Try Ebay before fabricating anything.

I looked there. I just don't want to spend even ebay's prices of $500 on a full exhaust system. I know what i should do is the full exhaust, and a jet kit, but the money is an issue. I don't mind fabricating, I've done exhaust work on my mustangs, and I'm painting the bike, so I don't think it would be much of a chore. I'm just not sure if it will affect performance, or sound ok to do this sort of custom exhaust, since I've never seen it done.

Anyone have a full exhaust system and jet kit for 50 bucks? That'll save me from fabricating.

Hehe.
