I got a quote on a custom paint job for a Kat 600 and the guy told me that the minimum was at least 1500.00 is this very high because car paint jobs don't cost this much on average, let me know something guys

How custom is your custom paint job? I know that certain types of paint, especially with special effects in them, can cost an arm and a leg. You can of course get a quote from somebody else.

well, I haven't got the job done yet but all I wanted was a candy coated paint job

Canies and Pearls will cost that much easily. Also a good and great paint job smooth and coats of Klear Koat will cost more. You can get it done for less but it may look like it unless you know the guy. Also @ $1500 you will most likely have to take the plastic off and on. So not a bad price even if you have to do some of the work.

My bike under Photos was recently done in Pearl lime gree, which has lots of Gold flakes in the paint. It is hard to see in the pic. Done by award winning Sones Custom Bikes. The paint job was quotes from $3,000 to $4,000 by a few places. I got it done for lot less during there very slow time of year during holiday time.
