can someone show me diff.'s in the 95 and newer sv650s, and if there diff. front ends or "body kit" for bikes, i kno i sound like a ricer but ive seen alot of diff. types of sv650s when i google it and i want to kno which one is the one i should be lookin for, thanks! matt

My guess is the Gixxers are already race bikes with a license plate. Most Gixxers don't get reworked like an SV can be done. The SV being a naked more mellow bike from the factory leaves a lot more room to customize. Plus the SV handles very well, and has a great sound! Put a good rider on one in the tight twisty stuff and they will put some Gixxer riders in thier place real fast, until the road straightens out some!

Hmm.... maybe I need an SV too? No, no, no, bad, I've got enough two wheelers and projects!

yah the sv v twin does have a great exhaust note when it gets up in the rpms

and also if you put a good rider on a 50cc dirtbike in the twisties it will put a lot of the gixxer riders i see in there place

but good call on the no need to mod gixxers sv's would be more of a challenge and your options vary greatly

The 1999-2002 SVs had a rounder frame and carbs. The 2003+ have a more angular frame (more similar to GSXR-looking frame) and fuel injection. A lot of people like the older look better, but that is a matter of preference.
There are two main differences in SVs. There is the SV650, which is a naked bike similar in appearance to a Ducati Monster. The SV650S has an upper fairing, providing more protection from wind. To add to this confusion, there is an optional lower fairing to complete the full plastic look on the SV650S.

There were no SV650 in 1995, they were introduced in 1999.

The Sv400 were introduced in 1998 in Japan and the SV1000 in 2003.
