ok . So i found this cool stuff "Black Magic Wet Shine Spray Detailer" Works nice on the paint just spray on, rub in and wipe off.Leaves that nice gloss wet look. I also fbought some TIRE GLOSS and DUH i didnt realize how LITTLE of a sidewall there really was.Made it hard to apply as i didnt want to spray the treads. Anyway i used this stuff to clean my black rims as well.Lots of brake dust. They came out looking WAY BETTER than just washing and using wheels cleaner. BUT that way 2 days ago and about 50miles and now the wheels are full of brake dust again. ARRRGG. Does everyone else clean there wheels super often or what?

sorry for the long rambling post :)

watch out!

Watch out for anything that advertises "wet look" or "wet shine"! That stuff has an oil based chemical to create that "wet look" that will get into the pores of your tire and if you get it on the tread it will cause a serious slide even when the tire gets hot! Try using Eagle One AtoZ wheel cleaner. It's much better for the tire and the rim. You can also use it on the plastics if you use it sparringly and follow the directions for washing it off. I use it on the inside of my plastics to get the road grime broke loose and washed out easily.

I try to clean mine every other time I ride and I dont get alot of brakedust but my bike gets dirty 'cause of where I live and where I go. I live in Eastern KY, I dont live in Places like Deliverance, A Coal Minners Daughter, or American Hollow but I could get to places like that in 15minutes. Ive got two friends who live back in hollows(pronounced 'Hollers') with Dirt roads. So its a tuff job riding there on my bike when I go and It always comes out dirty.

If you just want your bike to have a good waxy shine to it, try Protect All. It works great and isn't as oily as those other chemicals.

yeah i clean my bike regularly and enjoy it, that way if u clean it every ride or so not much dirt will build up so it will be easy to clean, leave it for ages and it becomes a mission

Puttin' that shiny stuff on tires, huh !!!!!!! Waaaayyyy bolder than I...I must admit. Wouldn't dream of puttin' that slicky slick on my tires.

I spray WD-40 on a rag & wipe the dirt & dust off of my black rims. Comes off so easily & leaves an amazing shine. Hadn't lost any paint from the usage either. Great for removing those stickers & other stuff too  .

my bike is a daily driver it doesn't get washed much, I have black rims so you can't really notice the crud on them....don't put anything on the tires, with speed that shiny stuff will pull to the treads and when you hit a low turn theres a chance of a spill....

Protect All is great stuff. I use it on everything from face shields, fairings to leathers, and the wheels too. I try to clean my chain and bike every 500 miles. In reality it ends up closer to a 1000 miles, which is a ride Saturday, then another on Sunday, add another 500 to 750 commuter miles each week and damn , No wonder I'm always cleaning and lubing! Sure glad it's winter so I'm not riding as much! Wow, Gixxer has been parked for? 23 hours! Hope it will still start! It's not used to long rests like that!

Theres really not anything you can do to keep the brake dust off for long. While my bike warms up I usually run an old cotton shirt over the dust and it usually gets the crud off (unless its really dirty). Just wash em every once in a while too. I don't know about your bike, but mine has a clearcoat black finish on the rims and I actually wax em with the rest of the bike. That helps with shine.

My wheels are dark gray/black, and you can still see the dirt on 'em. The main thing I use to wash my bike is Murphy's Oil Soap. It does the job on all but chain splatter, and it leaves a bit of a shine. Since it's vegetable oil, I know it won't hurt anything. Wheels look great with it. I do use some bug/tar cleaner on the chain goo.
