1989 gs500e i just changed the big gasket on the cover on the right side with the distributer. around the rotor at higher rpms it has a little stream of oil coming out. is their somthing that needs to be tightened? replaced? is their another gasket somewhere? did i just do a cruddy job installing the first gasket? i thought i did a decent job i spent 2 hours cleaning off the surfaceses of the old stuck on gasket. any insight would be awsome.

thanks spencer

Well. I dont know where Suzuki put a distributor on GS, but I can only assume you mean the Pulser cover, or Generator cover. If its leaking oil and youre positive that the gasket surface is clean and perfectly flat, you may have a cracked engine case. If this bike has been crashed before (and I'm guessing thats why youre replacing engine covers), it may have damaged part of the main engine block. Usually around bolt holes. Check for small cracks, I have sucessfully repaired minor cracks with JB weld. But the surface must be very clean from oil, dirt etc.
