I got my Yoshimura TRS pipe in..Titanium. I have a Gixxer 2004 750. The part number on the box shows 1106567. But also that it is for a 2000-2003.

The right part number I supposidly need by looking on their web site is 1108567.

Question. Will this work? Is it dangerous to use?

I know Yoshimura has many different parts for exhausts. I was hoping someone might know.

I would send it back. I was talk to the parts manager yesterday and he was telling me that the engines are tuned to the exhaust and when you change pipes you really need a Power commander to remap the fuel map. That exhaust you have is probably not the one made for your bike and I wouldn't stick it on there.

Keep in mind each engine is different and every two years the bikes are redesigned and upgraded. I dont know if I said it yet, but personally I wouldn't put it on there. OH and you should have gotten a Micron, but thats my opinion.

In my opinion, I would call the company first and check with them to see if the pipe would work. I wouldn't just throw it on there to see if it works. The company will be able to tell you, and if it doesn't, they will give you the info. to return the pipe and exchange it for the right one. Most companies that I have dealt with require you to call them if you need to exchange a product. The last time I had to do that, they sent me a new part first with a return label so I could send the other back to them.

First of all, did you get the bolt-on pipe, or the full exhaust system? If you got the full exhaust, I can't help you out there, but if you got the bolt-on, it should fit just fine. My Yoshimura RS-3 Titanium bolt-on is for a 2000-2003 GSXR-600, but I have an '04 and it fit mine just fine. The fit shouldn't really be an issue with a bolt-on because it just involves removing four bolts from the stock canister, pulling it off, slipping the new one on, and bolting it down. But before you send it back, call a local Suzuki dealer and talk to the service department. They will (or should) be able to tell you right away if it will work or not. I guarantee you aren't the first to ask this question because many others want to do exactly what you're doing, just like I did. :)

the only problem with that is that these bikes are more senstivie to changes with back pressure. if that pipe was made for the 00-03 engine then it shouldn't be put on the all new for 04 engine. The engine is 04 is different and therefore the exhaust was changed to match the unique characteristics of the new engine. The 04 has titanium valve springs for starters! But to each his own.

Good point and dualy noted. Like I said before, ask your dealer's service dept if you aren't sure.

Ok I have the answer for sure here.

I called Yoshimura Customer Service. In case anyone needs it call 800-634-9166.

I was told by them that I do have the wrong pipe. But he was unsure if it would fit. I said it did..seemed just perfect. The answer was there would be no damage to use it. Next that if it fits it is the same pipe. The only thing he said is that the bracket for the pipe is slightly different in that the 2004 is about 1/8" up higher. Same pipe other than that.

I do want to thank you all for your input and opinions.

Next project is a iridium wind shield and an undertail.

Agreed...some of the options for these Gixxers look really nice. Oh I called the distributor of the Pipe told them they sent the wrong one. They offered to give me full credit. And they don't have the right one in stock.

So I'm going to go get another one...but here's the options I'm adding to my bike.
