I just wanted to get all of your's openions about listening music (with headphones) while riding.

Listening to music

I know if you have a full face helmet you can place the speakers behind your ears you not cut your hearing. I have never done this. There are too many radios availible to place on a bike, and specialy desined head sets that allow for outside noise. On a bike you need to be aware.
I pesonally tend to listen to the tunes rambling through my head. My ride time is the time for me to escape all the tippical things that stress me. Music is cool and all, but most walkmans will not pick up stations well enouph to make it realy worth it on a long haul. But then again if I use my brother rase car explanation, if you want music give it a little gas. :lol:

I agree with Mike, the only thing I'd be willing to listen to in my helmet would be the FRS radio allowing to communicate with fellow riders.

Same answer for me too,I think you need to be aware of whats going on around you,too many muppets about.

I don't listen to music while riding. I'm rarely bored while riding anyway, so there's no need. Riding is fun by itself. Time flies and before I know it, half the day's gone.

I'm with Mike, I love the way driving around sounds. If I get on it a little bit and hear the engine rev away, that's music enough for me

i have tryed to use them little ear phones that go into your ear. its kinda worked but i found it better without. Even with the music i could still hear everything around me clear as day, but music might not make you as aware as you would be without

No music. Biking is either to get away from my daily stress and distractions or to push the envelope of experience. Both desreve my total concentration. If I want to put my mind in auto pilot, I drive.

all the time, my MP3 plugs into my chatterbox but i keep the volume low so i can hear what's going on around me. i also pay extra close attention to what's going on around me

I tried music for the first time in 35 years of riding last Friday (400 mile day). I didn't like it. I used it on the ride out, and went without on the way back.

No, my scoot doesn't make the kind of music that a lot of these other guy's rides do, but just the same I like to listen to the world around me. I do like ear plugs, though. They keep my brains in (or what's left).
