Me too. I'm not sure what a 'novelty' helmet is, but if you're referring to the laughable cap that the boys on American Chopper and Jesse James wear, forget it. I value my face more than that.

A novelty helmet is one that looks cool but don't protect your head like a dot helmet does.
Example-Some harley riders wear these.

I wear one like the one pictured above when Im stunting which is more than what my bro's wear when there doing 12 o' clock indos and high chairs. But when Im ripping it up down the highway Im full face AGV styled.

But ever had a bug hit you at speeds over 90mph even on your hand doesnt feel good.
