Last night on Discovery HD they had an hour special on extreme bikes and cool bikes. They were showing off some NOS'd BUSA's. Puttin out about 425-500 HP at the crank. Now does everyone know what the tomahawk is? If not...http://www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/tomahawk.html

It's one wicked ride. The thing is it's like 1300 lbs. Going head to head on the strip which do you think would win?? The BUSA's do get 500 HP with the boost. But even with less HP, it's got WAY less weight. I know the argument about the torque. The BUSA proabbly doesn't even compare, but as long is it's high revs, that came be overcame right??

speak on it...

Go for the NOS Tomahawk. It has four tires, and should be the perfect beginner bike. Heck, with all o f those tires, I'd suspect you wouldn't even need a helmet.

Seriously,

The tomahawk has the Viper V-10, right? I believe they were making about 500 HP a the crank that year, maybe a little less. That said, both bikes are roughly equal in HP. The weight of the Tomahawk would most likely cause it to lose the race.

You throw into the equation the fact that hte Toamhawk supposedly does 300 mph, or whatever, and it seems to me the gearing would also dictate that the Tomahawk would lose.

I don't know squat, I'm just guessing here.

Again . . . get the NOS Tomahawk. Perfect beginner's bike.

Tell me how you corner on a Motorcycle that has 2 wheels side-by-side at front and back. You can't corner like a car because you'll just flip due to the narrow wheel-base. You can't corner like a bik without a scary transition from 2 wheels to 3 (not to be achieved by counter-steering). Tell me how it can do anything but drive fast and straight. Twisties would find that bike rammed through the guard rail at the first turn.

read the article on it. it has 4 way indepedent suspension. It's actually WILD. When it turns the two wheels slide in opposite directions. So when it turns left the left wheel leans left and is higher than the right and vica versa. You have to think about it for a sec. It actually turn quite well, but not near as well as a sportbike.

Where do you see that in the "article" ?

All I saw was this.....

Front:

Outboard, single-sided parallel upper and lower control arms made from polished billet aluminum. Mounted via ball joint to aluminum steering uprights and hubs. Five degrees caster. Single, fully adjustable centrally located coil-over damper (2.25-inch coil with adjustable spring perch); pullrod and rocker-actuated mono linkage. Center-lock racing-style hubs

Rear:

Hand-fabricated box-section steel inboard swing arms, incorporating "hydral-link" lockable recirculating hydraulic circuit parking stand. Single fully adjustable centrally located Koni coil-over damper (2.25-inch coil with adjustable spring perch); pushrod and rocker-actuated mono linkage. Center-lock racing-style hubs

The Mono Linkage was about all I noticed....

So.. all that above means it's 4-wheel independent suspension? Seemed to me as if it was all pretty well locked together. Point me to where I can read more???

The Busa would win.

The Busa would also win on the practical side.

I have a bone to pick with that Dodge thing. It probably has about 50 miles to go before it runs out of fuel! LMAO
It has a 3 gallon fuel tank, but an 8 liter engine! Those engineers were drunk or somethin'!
You'd have to call in the Air Force with a midflight tanker to fill you up with gas while riding.

The concept is awesome :bluethum: , but why the hell didn't they make it streetworthy???? :(

Chrysler has lost their minds these days. Seen one of these Crossfires? Nice car. Problem: Costs only a few thousand less than a 'Vette. Now who in their right mind is going to buy a Crossfire for 'Vette money?

The tomahawk only has 2 gears, the gearbox is definately big enough for more but was decided that 2 was enough.

In one of the first test runs they did on the thing, the test rider took it up to 30mph in first and hit the throttle. Liquified the rear tires. This thing should be impressive in a straight line but would never want to have one. Will just wait for Leno to do a review on it after he gets his

I'll take this opportunity to point out that NOS is a brand name (Nitrous Oxide Systems), and not a chemical symbol. That would be N2O. I guess it's an irritation I picked up at the Mustang forum I used to visit. That wretched, sorry, pathetic excuse for entertainment, The Fast and the Furious, made the initials seem to be an actual word (nawss). Ever since then, ricers and posers alike seem to think that NOS stands for "nitrous oxide". Umm, no.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

What's wrong with "nitrous"? Nawss is a figment of Hollywood.

well, say nos 100 hundred times. then say nitrous 100 times. nos is easier to say. like if your name is really long, people shorten it. i'd rather say nos than n20 or nitrous, but i see where your point is.
