Ok, so today, thankfully at low speed, I experienced my first totally careless driver. I'm cruisin down College Ave. at about 35mph, and this guy sitting at a stop sign (which apparently he thought applied to all but him) just starts rolling right out into the street in front of me. He was looking at traffic across the street, where he was turning left, but totally ignored the oncoming traffic in the lanes which he was now blocking.

As I said, luckily I was going slow enough that I slowed down well before I got to a bad spot, and just waited for the moron to float out into traffic. I'm also very lucky there was no one behind me, now that I think of it. Man, I guess the best lessons really are learned the hard way.

not quite the same thing, but a simple cure for tailgaters. Keep a quarter or two in the back of one of your gloves, when someone gets too close behind you, just drop the quarter. It will bounce off of the street and hit the car behind you. In most cases, will hit the windshield causing the person to drop WAY back. Some people use ball bearings for this, but if you get stopped by a cop, its easier to explain having loose change on your self than bearings.

Drivers don't even look out of their windows sometimes. A guy in a Jaguar talking on his cellphone did his best to change lanes into my Acura today. (At least I had a car arounbd me and my kids...) Do you ever have those days when you wish your headlight was a rocket launcher? 8)

Yep, I had a day I wished I was on the Gixxer in full gear, rather than pedaling down a canyon at 35mph in shorts and a jersey. Cagers just suck at driving! Picture warning!

Yep, that was 35 on a road (pedal) bike. Now imagine 65 on a motorcycle on the same road in jeans and a T Shirt!OUCH! I always wear full gear on the Gixxer! Maybe I need full gear on the bicycle? Almost a year now and still not 100%
