Well I have now dropped my new bike with only 800 miles on it,,, suxs!!!
I was in a curve,, sharp one at that and theis "frickin" truck was swinging wide in the apex of the curve,, he was halfway in my lane and I had no choice but to stand the bike up and lock them down.
Ended up running right off the road into a rut where I though I might be able to ride it out,, but all the mud and water proved me wrong. I layed it over and screwed it up.
Of course they slowed down, looked back at me, then took off like a bat out of hell,,, there were six immigrant workers in that truck. They were driving a dualie four door Ford F-350.
They probably are not legal citizens and they are woking down the road from my house,, I will be watching for them everyday now.
So I managed to dent and scratch the left tank cover, the front left turn signal is broke, the rear left foot peg is scratched all up, scuffed the paint on the front fender, and scratched the mirror and the clutch reservoir.
Already order the peg, turn signal, and tank cover. Not happy about it,, $270.00 dollars I wasn't planning on spending.
Tore up my jeans and left a nice bright cherry on my knee cap,, now the knee hurts and is swollen,, kinda shaky, so I don't believe I will be riding for a week or two,,errrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I did mange to still take my DMV test two hours later on the training classes little 250cc bikes and pass. But I was still shaky and I was way over protective to the left knee.
I was told there are riders who have dropped their bikes and those who will drop their bikes,, I guess I'm broken in good now,,, a set of riding chaps are going to be the next purchase for me after I get my repair parts.
Funny thing is the instructor at the school told me after I get about six months under my belt she'd like to have me as an assisitant,, $25.00 part time!!!! But I guess I need to learn to keep the shiny side up better.
Everyone else is saying it could've been alot worse if I hadn't steered it the way I did. I don't know,, just hate breaking in my bike that way.
