I purchased an Optimate 4 for keeping my battery charged during this off-season. It came with two connectors, one with alligator clips and the other with an SAE connector and a 15 A fuse.

Does anyone know whether I can use the connector not just to charge my bike, but also as the power connection for electronics/heated gear etc. when I'm riding?

I dont know that particular charger...but if it is like battery tender jr, the answer is yes... no problem. I use my battery tender lead to plug in my heated gloves. Just get the polarity right and, uh, dont draw more than 15 amps....LOL

Sure. Just be sure that you get the polarity right when you put the connector on the gear. Or double check it against the charger plug if the gear already has the right kind of plug.
