Hi

Has anyone dealt with Honda East in Maumee, OH?

I am buying a 2005 C50T soon, and find their online prices lowest on www.CycleTrader.com. They list them for $6799, which is about $1000 off MSRP. Is this a good price?

I am also interested to hear your experience in buying out-of-state. I am in the Seattle area, and thinking about buying online to get best price. How much would it cost to ship the bike across the country?

Any one in WA done this before? Do I have to pay WA state sales tax when registering my bike?

Many thanks!

You should be able to find a C 50T at a Seattle dealer for the same price – including freight. Like you I looked at this company, thinking it was a good deal. However, I found two local dealers willing to beat their price. In general, you should pay $800 to a $1,000 less than MSRP for the bike – including freight and prep, etc (local/state taxes are extra).

I travel to Seattle on occasion and I know that there are a number of Suzuki dealers in the area -- and you should be able to find a better deal.

The freight is included in the MSRP, as is an allowance for prep. Any additional fees charged by a dealer for prep, freight, documents, etc. are just padding the price.

From what I have seen, Honda East's charge for shipping would be around $400 to ship the bike to you. I'd certainly hit up the local dealers first - but there are still lots of dealers who will not deal. Look at the bottom line so your comparisons are accurate - and remember that you'll have to pay your state sales tax on a bike you bring in from an out of state dealer.

i would probably take the number from the internet, including shipping, and go down to the local dealers and say "i can get it for this, match it or you wont get my business".....but in a more professional maner. thats just the overall idea for the buyers side of the argument.
