I am looking at a 90 VX 800 with 14k miles for $ 1,450. I like the bike but keep hearing about parts availability problems, vague steering, etc.. I drove the bike and it seems nice. I was really looking for a Honda Hawk. I like the V-Twins, and want to stay with standard bikes. The SV 650 does nothing for me.

Feedback please.

Oh, this will be my first bike. I have ridden bikes in the past.

Thanks
Nick

You like standards, and you like v-twins, but not the SV. Maybe if you elaborate we can help find you a bike.

i have ridden a vx800 and i have also ridden a sv650s and the sv is more leaned over then the vx. As far as parts my brother has one an it can be very hard to find parts. One of the dealerships near by did not even have the bike in the book they have. as far as the price i do not think that is that bad of a price. The only thing i would be worried about is how long has the bike been sitting and if it runs good and smooth

I like a more upright position, plus I don't care for the styling of the SV 650. For starters, I like the look of the Moto Guzzi Breva 750, BMW K 75.. I guess I also would like the bike to be shaft drive.

Thanks

Don't settle for something you don't want because it's a good deal. If you don't really want it, it's not a good deal. Keep looking for that Hawk!
