I got a bit of a shock today when I took my bike in for the first service. They told me it's gonna cost $180can plus tax. Does this seem ok? They said something like 3.5 hours labour?
It seems a bit high, but it's all up to the dealer. My dealer charged $50US for the C50's first service a few weeks ago. 8)

My wife got her Savage's first service last Friday and it was $72. $180 seems a little steep.

I have heard of people being charged much more than $200cdn, dealers vary and you didn't get shafted. They do a lot in that initial service.

Seems like he is talking Canadian dollars (180 can) and rest are talking U. S. dollars. I would think someone would have done the conversion by now. Still it does seem high, maybe those canadian mechanics are muched more skilled then here in the U.S.

Just a thought

If its a proper service job it's not that high. Besided Oil change in the engine and Trans, with filters, the is several bolts to snug up. Such as shocks, exaust, wheels, forks, engine mounting, exaust, etc. Also tappets clearences may need to be checked as well as cables.

It could take 3 hrs .

You may find a better deal at a non-suzuki dealer. Either way, unless you can do it yourself, it is worth it to keep your bike service up to date.
