If you buy sliders specific for the Gixxer model it will come with the angle bracket for one side (left) where it is needed. Brings it forward of the plastics.

Hey Gixxerdale, what kinda tank pad is that?
Tank Pad? There is a magnetic Marsee tank bag and barely visible at the rear of the tank is a Carbon tank protector from Carbon Works. Both are available from

No tank bra on the bike. Just a hazy picture and worn paint from my knees! :D

man, that looks like a bra, lol. Pretty bike though man. Do you have any protection where your zipper and button off your pants rub the tank? I am debating on a bra or not. My wife loves putting her hands on the tank and she wears rings :x

I have a carbon tank protector. The color match is way off on this photo. It is true black Carbon Fiber.

I've used tank bras before on other bikes, but over the long run they leave there own wear marks in your paint. My wife also braces herself on the tank. A tank bra would shift under her gloves and move leaving a less than secure feeling. Have your wife wear gloves at least. If you ever should go down, she will need them and more gear.

Ok, here is my next question and that protector is a good example. I have been looking for some good online places to shop and it is hard to find somethings for a brand new (2004) bike. Does the 04 GSXR600 match like the 03's or 02's on most things?

Like you said"most things". The 04 600 tank is narrower and I think, not as tall. So the current carbon piece may not fit right. The 04 600 saw a lot of upgrades over the other years. Mostly performance oriented, but for sure the tank and fairings are narrower than previous years. Here are a couple links for on line stuff.

If you're looking for a tank bra for your 04 gixxer 600, you can get one from Suzuki for about $39. It's the black, carbon-fiber pattern. That's the only place I know of that sells tank bras for the 04 models so far. I got one for my bike a couple weeks ago and it looks and fits great. It doesn't slide at all and shouldn't if it is installed correctly.
